Woo hoo! She’s over her writing block! (She being me). I was on a mission to read at least 5 books a month. I did great in January then didn’t pick up a book all of February and most of March. But, you’ll be happy to know (or won’t care at all) that I’ve read three books in the past week and All the Dangerous Things was a real pleasure.
As with all my favorite thrillers, this book had an ending I never saw coming. I, like many people, spend the book thinking I know exactly what’s going to happen in the end and many times, I’m right. But this one, never could’ve seen it coming. This book had heavy subject content but it was very good.
Isabelle Drake is on a True Crime Con circuit, where she tells the very real and devastating story of how her toddler, Mason, was stolen from his crib in the middle of the night. The case is not solved and there are no promising leads so Isabelle does the only thing she can think to keep his story alive, get us True Crime fans to follow along.
Her husband has left her, her parents don’t speak to her, and every day she desperately tries to figure out what happened to her son. When Isabelle decides to let a man do a podcast on her son’s story, she begins to think that the podcaster might think she’s the one to blame. As she starts having memories from her childhood and from that horrible night and realizing she still sleep walks, she’s not quite so sure either.

Hey! You stay away from that baby!
The book was a little slow to get into for me, however, I’m happy I pushed through because it was a really good one. I definitely recommend to anyone who likes a good thriller.
Let’s do some pros and cons!
Pros: Good imagery, definitely a great thriller, fun read and great twist ending.
Cons: While the twist ending was something no one could see coming, it’s because it was so random and you literally couldn’t see it coming because you didn’t know anything about it until the end. Which works I guess, just a bit random. The beginning was a bit slow. I picked it up and put it down in the first paragraph multiple times.
Final rating: 8/10
